What is the most popular game in the world
But of all the installments, 2004 holds a special place for many as the one that introduced Owner Mode, taking the action beyond the field into controlling a franchise — right down to the hotdog sales Blackjack online. -C.C.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 doesn’t disappoint with its single-player campaign, as developer Raven Software delivers a spy-thriller that feels and plays like a big-budget Hollywood movie. Full of memorable characters and explosive moments across a varied selection of missions, the Black Ops 6 campaign is an engaging part of this year’s Call of Duty package.
The first Halo revolutionized the idea of playing shooters on controllers, instead of a mouse and keyboard — particularly in how it used two control sticks for aiming. The scheme that Halo created has been carried over to countless other games.
The Legend of Zelda is a series defined by reinvention. With some exceptions, each game literally stars a different hero named Link, in a different era or timeline from the last, trapped in a perpetual loop in the fight between good and evil. Each game presents new innovations, new mechanics and worlds to explore, down to their art style and tone.
Game 1 world series
• The similarities with Gibson’s are remarkable — a hobbled superstar in Game 1 at Dodger Stadium. In fact, his and Freeman’s are the only walk-off homers in World Series history where the team was down to its final out. The only other such homer in any postseason round was by Houston’s Yordan Alvarez in the 2022 American League Division Series Game 1.
Against the Royals (ALDS) and Guardians (ALCS), you can maybe get away with giving up an extra 90 feet now and then. Not against a team as good as the Dodgers though. Play mistake-filled baseball against this club and you’re going to be on the losing side more often than not. The Yankees learned that the hard way in Game 1.
The game started as a pitcher’s duel, as the high-powered lineups were held to one combined run through five innings — a Will Smith sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth that gave Los Angeles a 1-0 lead.

While Judge robbed Freddie Freeman of extra bases with a sensational catch early in Game 5, Freeman’s two-run single in the Dodgers’ five-run fifth gave him 12 RBIs in the series, tying the Yankees’ Bobby Richardson in 1960 for the World Series record. Freeman, now a two-time World Series champion, was named series MVP. He homered four times, including a Game 1 walk-off grand slam, and set a record by homering in six consecutive World Series games dating to 2021.
Following a historic performance with four home runs in the final series, Freddie Freeman was named the decisive series MVP. Not only was he dealing with a lingering ankle issue sustained in the team’s final regular-season series against San Diego, he is coming off a year in which his son Max was diagnosed with a rare condition called Gullian-Barre syndrome.
Game 2 world series
Hernández and Freeman are the second set of Dodgers to hit back-to-back homers in the World Series, joining Pedro Guerrero and Steve Yeager in Game 5 in 1981. That, of course, came against the Yankees as well. Dating back to 2021, Freeman now has a four-game homer streak in the postseason. Only George Springer (five games from 2017-19) has a longer streak.
Dodgers: The Dodgers used all their high-leverage relievers in Game 1, but they should be available again on Saturday. The question for L.A. will be whether or not Alex Vesia and Brusdar Graterol will be able to pitch on back-to-back nights given they’re both coming off injuries. L.A. has plenty of coverage, if needed, with Ben Casparius, Landon Knack and Brent Honeywell on the roster.
The three home runs are tied for the most ever allowed by a Yankee in a World Series game. It’s happened several times, and the last to do it before Rodón was David Wells in Game 1 of the 1998 World Series against the Padres. Greg Vaughn (two) and Tony Gwynn took Wells deep that game. Unlike Saturday night, the offense picked Wells up, and the Yankees won that game. No such luck this time.
Sunday is an off-day, then Game 3 is Monday night at Yankee Stadium. The Dodgers are two wins away from the eighth World Series title in franchise history and, historically, teams with a 2-0 lead in a best-of-seven have gone on to win the series 84% of the time. Righties Clarke Schmidt and Walker Buehler are the scheduled Game 3 starting pitchers.
A historic rivalry between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers resumes in Los Angeles for game one of the World Series. The last time the teams met in the fall classic was 1981. NBC News’ Morgan Chesky reports.
